Hello everyone, welcome back to Colour me in style, It was my birthday recently and I thought I would give you an update on how it all went down.
The Garden Party
This year, I had a nice little garden party with my near and dear ones. Just having people around for a nice meal and music just made it so much nicer! I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed just being in the company of my friends with the sun shining, the food and drinks going, shall I dare say the new normal? Ermm, let’s not jinx it just yet.
The table
I originally wanted to do a low seating with some palettes on something like this little board I made for inspiration. I found some good ones for free on gumtree that I went to pick up but couldn’t fit in the boot of my car (smh) turns out they are bigger than they look!
So I ended up ordering a folding picnic table from Argos and decided to use my dining chairs for the farmhouse look. There are flowers – fresh & faux ones on the table with my cute red candles and gold stands from Wilko. This along with a few decorative accessories made the table look so beautiful and picture-perfect for a garden party.
Overall it turned out pretty great, it was really sunny and hot that day so all the pictures are quite bright! I had the balloon arch resting on my clothes rack which looks pretty much invisible against my white fence so I was well pleased. The cake was placed in front of the arch on a smaller table.
The cake was from Patisserie Valerie which came nicely packed with dry ice to keep it cool. It was a delicious cake and is called the Blue Candy Stripe Gateau cake on the website.
The Dress
The dress I wore for the party was a special red number by Zara
Never have I ever been so comfortable in a backless dress. The dress was quite popular on my Instagram and was loved by a lot of people on my recent reel that was published. The back of the dress is really something special and yet it looks very elegant. I would so recommend it to everyone. For reference, I am wearing a UK size s and I am 5’3″ tall. For anyone taller, it would be a nice midi dress.
PS: The hangover next day was unreal (crying!!!)
Birthday Photoshoot Idea
Also, I had a bright and airy photoshoot planned for the day and I really love how it all turned out. I had to bring out my Monet Puff Dress (aff link) from Selkie to the task because it just looks so pretty and is perfect for the setting.
As a treat for my birthday, I added to my coach bag collection. There is a summer sale going on right now on their website which is such a great time to buy one if you love them as much as I do.
Meet Coach Cassie Crossbody 19. The quality at the price is exceptional! I will post a youtube video about the unboxing of this bag real soon. This brings me to my next point that yes! we are now on youtube! I mean, I don’t know what I was thinking but I have just pushed myself to make one! So please follow my journey and hit the subscribe button or a like / comment to help boost my channel. You can find me here.
So that’s pretty much me looking very happy to be 35 and loving life to its fullest! If anything, this pandemic has pushed me to believe in myself and my dreams. Even though it’s hard to believe in yourself sometimes and we have all been there, I have realised it is the consistency that matters.
If you think you can, you will do is what JLO is saying and god help me, I will! So hope you all had a nice week keep on believing!
Au revoir, Pooja Xx
