Hello Everybody, how have you all been? Welcome back to Colour me in style, apologies for missing last week’s post. I have been a bit under the weather but getting there slowly. Meanwhile, I had an exciting delivery for my recent collaboration with Keys Soulcare, a skincare and wellness brand by Alicia Keys herself. I won’t lie, I was totally fangirling when I found out I will be receiving PR samples from Keys Soulcare to review but you will find that this is a pretty honest review of the 3 products I got to try.
So here is what I received – a box full of positivity (literally) and full-size products to try. I am a sucker for quotes and this box was full of them. I really like the fact that the brand has worked on their soul care aspect for each of their wellness products. On their website, you will find a little note under all the products that mention the “Soulcare benefits” of each product.
The three products were-
- Be Luminous Exfoliator
- Reviving Aura Mist
- Comforting Balm
Be Luminous Exfoliator
The Be luminous exfoliator was the one thing I was really excited to try as it really looked like something new and innovative. I have never heard of a soft, almost sand-like but fluffy, powdered exfoliator. See for yourself, it is such a lovely consistency.
So you wash your face with water and take some product into your wet palms and it immediately starts melting and becomes creamy. So far so good. The product feels quite smooth and nice on the skin I did not particularly like the smell of it but that’s, not something that would put me off at first instance. Once you work the creamy product on your face and wash it off you will see that your skin is pretty clear and there is a subtle glow.
Having said that, I was quite disappointed that despite the glow the be luminous exfoliator is not for me. The reason being it left my skin quite dry after. For me personally, I had to double the moisturizer. So for anyone with combination skin I would suggest using it on super oily days on just the T zone. For oily skin, this would do wonders but for dry skin, I think it’s best to steer clear unless you want to double the moisturizer.
Reviving Aura Mist
A great little concoction made with the rose of Jericho and witch hazel will leave you smelling like a rose. I mean it reminded me of home this little bottle of love. It reminded me of my mum’s Dabur rose water which I was told to dab on my face every other day to keep it looking glowy and fresh.
The spray mechanism itself is quite lovely, it really sprays like a mist and you don’t waste a lot of product. Two to three spritz and you have got your face covered. This mist here has been amazing, I have been using it on a clean face every day for the past 2 weeks and love having it on. The mist hydrates and tones your skin and over the course of 2 weeks I have actually done the morning school run with just this one product on my face and have not felt the need to moisturize my skin as soon as I wash my face which is a miracle!
The key ingredients include witch hazel that helps tone and revives your skin. Rose of Jericho (resurrection plant) helps lock moisture into the skin. Ultimately a nice hydrating product. I would say 10/10 for presentation, packaging, and the product itself. I would definitely buy the reviving aura mist again.
Comforting Balm
Ok, this stuff actually works! It’s like a high-intensity chapstick for anywhere on the skin, literally! Can you imagine one product for any problem area? Well, this is it! I struggle with cracked lips and sad cuticles, the comforting balm has been really helpful. I wasn’t expecting to be impressed with this little jar of balm so much but it just works!
The balm contains camellia seed oil, rose of Jericho, avocado oil, and shea butter. This helps renew the look of dull and dehydrated skin with moisture.
It has a nice sweet vanilla and coconut fragrance to it, which is not overpowering and it really is a soothing formula. I think my husband has claimed the jar for himself so I may need to buy a new one (smh)
Other products that have received great reviews from the range are – Skin Transformation Cream, Golden Cleanser, and the Harmony Mask. I am quite tempted to try the harmony mask as it has manuka honey and smells of sandalwood which is a tried and tested facemask from my teenage years. The formula was passed down by my grandma and all the women in the house would apply this face pack before any big events or parties for nice and glowing skin.
All of the products I received are available at Cult Beauty UK. I shall link them below for you in case you are interested. Until next time, see you soon Xx
