Surprise! Autumn is upon us, and I don’t know about you, but this past week has had me wearing all sorts of coats and jackets each day. These transition months are always hard when the sunshine is deceptive, and you end up being either too cold or too warm.
Recently, I posted this autumn look on my Instagram which was an instant hit with my community and let me tell you, it is an outfit I’ve been wearing on repeat. There is nothing better than an outfit that makes you feel chic and confident and this is just it for me.
You may have noticed that most influencers were already on their autumn content pretty much a few weeks ago. And I am late to the party, but hey! We do things our way around here, and I see no harm in relishing the heatwave while it lasted. After all, you have to make the most of it. However, now that I am in the mood, you should know that autumn fashion can be really exciting. Just like the season, we shed our dramatic summer style and come back to refined styles for autumn.
Outfit details
Autumn fashion is pretty much moody and serious. So you are almost always looking at darker hues and neutrals. Having said that, this year’s autumn trends are looking bold, colourful, and tailored (more on that later).
But for this particular look, I wanted to stick to the classical autumn colour palette of black and browns because you just can’t go wrong with those.
I have nothing but love for these H&M pleated shorts. They are comfortable and high waisted so I find them very flattering.
The halter top I am wearing is a basic one from Zara and this must be the best 10 bucks ever spent! The top fits so well and the colour just goes so well with almost everything.
Not sure if I ever told you this, but the blazer I am wearing here is one of H&M’s summer blazers. I added the gold trim buttons myself to make them more interesting. You can do this with any blazer you like. I picked up the buttons from Hobbycraft, but there are many options available on Amazon.
For this particular look, I wanted my hair back with minimal makeup. The Nasty Gal oversized sunglasses just make it so much easier to hide the huge zit that decided to grace me with its flaming red presence. If there is one hack to hide an unwanted guest near your nose or your tired eyes – oversized sunglasses will be it!
So tell me how you like this outfit and if you would wear it the same way. I think this will fare so well with some knee-high boots. To conclude the post, I have linked all the items I am wearing here in case you want to find them. Some I have added as alternatives.
Hope you enjoyed my autumn outfit post and if you have been feeling a little out of touch with things or overwhelmed then go check out my last post about 7 things I am leaving behind in 2021. Might just give you that push you needed.
Until next time, Pooja Xx
