Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme Resort Review: Turkey

If you’re considering a stay at the Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme Resort & Golf in Turkey, you’re probably wondering what the resort is actually like. Is it good for families? What are the rooms like? Is the food any good? Which restaurants are available? And is the resort worth booking during the busy school holiday period?

We recently stayed at Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme and explored the resort to give you a detailed look at what you can expect, from the rooms and Lake Houses to the restaurants, pools, beach, activities and entertainment.

Where Is Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme?

Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme Resort & Golf is located in Sarigerme, near Dalaman in Turkey.
One of the biggest advantages is that this resort is only 20 mins drive away from Dalaman Airport, making it a convenient option if you don’t want a long transfer after your flight.

The resort is also directly on Sarigerme Beach, so you have access to both the beach and the resort’s extensive pool facilities. Sarigerme is a quieter resort area compared with some of Turkey’s larger holiday destinations, which is one of the reasons I think Hilton Dalaman is worth considering if you’re looking for a different option for a family holiday.

Rooms

There are several different accommodation options at Hilton Dalaman, so choosing the right room is worth considering carefully.

The standard rooms provide everything you’d expect from a large luxury resort, with comfortable big beds, bathrooms and balconies or terraces depending on the room category.

However, if you’re looking for something a little more special, there are also suites, family accommodation and the Lake Houses and trust me these are much better than the main building!

Sarigerme Beach

One of the biggest advantages of Hilton Dalaman is its location directly on Sarigerme Beach.
The beach provides another option for spending your day away from the swimming pools.
You can easily move between the beach and the resort throughout the day, which gives you plenty of choice when it comes to relaxing.
For me, having both a proper beach and extensive pool facilities is one of the strongest features of the resort.

Hilton Dalaman Restaurants and Food

If you’re booking an all-inclusive holiday, food is obviously going to be an important part of the experience.
And Hilton Dalaman certainly doesn’t lack choice.
There are numerous restaurants, snack spots and bars throughout the resort, with options ranging from the main buffet to Italian, Turkish, Indian, Far Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.

Activities and Entertainment

There’s plenty to do at Hilton Dalaman beyond sitting around the pool.
During the day, activities include yoga, Pilates and pool volleyball, along with other resort activities.
There are also kids’ and young people’s clubs, making the resort particularly well suited to families.
If you’d rather slow things down, there’s also the Elysion Spa, where you can take some time away from the main resort and relax.

Then in the evening, the resort comes alive with live music, shows and entertainment.

Is Hilton Dalaman Family Friendly?

Yes, I think this is one of the areas where Hilton Dalaman really stands out.
The combination of multiple pools, children’s facilities, activities, restaurants and evening entertainment means there is plenty to keep families occupied.
It’s also a good option for larger groups, particularly because there are different room categories and plenty of facilities available across the resort.
If you’re travelling with children, you won’t have to rely on leaving the resort every day to find something to do.

Hilton Dalaman vs Antalya or Bodrum

If you’re looking at a Turkish holiday during the school holidays, you may also be considering destinations such as Antalya or Bodrum.
Both are hugely popular, and some of the main resort areas can become extremely busy during peak holiday periods.
Sarigerme offers another option. You still get the luxury resort experience, extensive facilities and beautiful coastline, but the destination itself can feel a little removed from the busier atmosphere you might find in some of Turkey’s major holiday hotspots. And with Dalaman Airport being so close, getting to the resort is also relatively straightforward.

Things to Consider Before Booking This Resort

The biggest thing I’d consider is the size of the resort.If you’re looking for a small, peaceful boutique hotel, Hilton Dalaman may feel too large.

It’s also worth looking carefully at the different room categories because the experience can vary depending on where you stay. And if you’re interested in the à la carte restaurants, make sure you check the current reservation and cover charge arrangements when you arrive.

We paid €40 per adult and €20 per child to dine in the ala carte restaurants which felt like it defeated the purpose of an all inclusive package.
