If you think that leather or Faux leather is solely a thing for music artists or Bikers, think again. Not only has leather / faux leather evolved from the basic 90’s style it has completely got a revamp with some really good tailoring and It has taken the ready to wear market by storm in 2020.
Fit is everything when it comes to leather and we are looking at some really great figure accentuating skinny fits that the likes of Zara are showcasing at the moment. Not everyone will enjoy skinny fit but worry not, we are not ignoring straight fit and high waisted tailored styles in leather / faux Leather or vegan leather.
I don’t particularly like wearing real leather on my skin but there are so many beautiful faux leather or Vegan leather options out there which just makes it easier.
So when looking for my leather trouser I was influenced to buy the skinny style at first, however, I thought I would challenge myself to pick a high waisted paperbag faux leather trouser from SHEIN. To my surprise the quality and fit of the trouser is just perfect. I wanted something slightly baggy at the bottom and well fit everywhere else and this really does the job.
So lets look at 5 ways to style your leather trousers.
1. Style It With A Blazer
Style notes:
I decided to get myself Tan trousers rather than black as i wanted some tan for my autumn/ winter wardrobe. For my first look i styled the trousers with my HM blazer and Zara crop top in black. I added the gold button detail to my HM Blazer myself as I couldn’t find a blazer that was a similar fit and in my budget. i found the buttons at hobby craft. I went with gold multichain necklace and small gold hoop earrings. My Coach bag and my Kurt Geiger heels both have gold detailing to complete the look.

2. Muscle Tee
Style notes:
Muscle T-shirts or ones with shoulder pads have been my favourite this year. Whoever brought these back is a genius! This is really good with everything so you cant go wrong with these. I have them in a bunch of different colours. White would look great with these trousers too. I bought mine at Zara who are now doing them in sweatshirts too for autumn and winter.

3. White High Neck Jumper
Style notes
Everything is good with white if you ask me! Keeping it simple with this flattering white high neck jumper is practical in the cooler months as it is elegant. Just throw over a tan coat and you are good to go. I changed into beige pumps to complete the look.

4. Play With Textures
Style notes:
When it comes to fashion there are no rules. Its always nice to experiment with different styles and in this case i say play with textures. The faux leather balanced out with the fluffy cardi coat (cardigan coat) brings in a completely new look. Which is great because you can basically create a capsule for yourself with these outfits.

5. Similar Tones
Style Notes:
Black and whites look good with these trousers but you can create a new outfit entirely by adding similar shades. If i paired this with a beige or champagne top this would be truly neutral. And 2020 tells us nothing can go wrong when you decide to wear neutrals.

There are so many other ways to wear this trouser like I said, you can easily make a capsule wardrobe with these trousers and many other basic pieces. Which is such a big help when it comes to promoting slow fashion. Time and again it’s proven that you should buy timeless pieces, things that would not go out of fashion. If you study the styles you will see one season everyone’s wearing baggy jeans which then goes tighter the next season. Maxi skirts go midi and then short season after season and then come back full circle to Maxi again. Hence it is important to keep what you think suits you and not just throw away styles that are not in fashion this season (it goes in the landfill) and keep buying more the next when they come back in style. Mindful fashion is totally the way forward.
See you back here next week Xx
